TÜV Tests.

    • Tempering line (Hamon) is real.
    • Hardness of the blade: 40 ° and 60 ° Rockwell.
    • Straightness of the blade spine.
    • Blade tongue is forged in 1 piece with the blade and going inside the handle entirely.
    • Chemical tests of grip wrap, EN 71, PAK.
    • Chemial tests of scabbard material EN 71, PAK, AZO.
    • No sharp edges on all sword parts, except for blade edge.
    • Grip wrap test for tightness, min 500 Newton, and against oil resistance.
    • Tsuba test: 500 N must the tsuba withstand minimum to not bend or slip above the blade.
    • Dynamic Test of the blade: 10000 bending tests and no material-fatigue.
    • Cutting tests: No breaks, cracks or deformation of the blade.
    • 500 x hitting test on bamboo. Blade must not bend or deform.
    • 50 x diagonal cutting test with tatami omote.
    • 1000 x fit test of blade and scabbard. After 1000 x drawing the sword, it must sit tight in the scabbard.
